Summary form only given. To obtain high quality and high productivity in steel making plant, electromagnetic force application such as linear induction motor is researched and practically used because of its noncontact operation and quick response. Thin steel plate is transported and rolled in many processing lines such as reheating or galvanizing line. Here, linear induction motor application to the thin steel plate is researched to obtain the exact and noncontact positioning of the steel. When linear induction motor is applied to the thin steel, not only a thrust force but also a normal force must be considered. The normal force has two components such as repulsive force and attractive force. The repulsive force is caused by Lorentz force that is derived from induced eddy current and magnetic density. The attractive force is caused by ferromagnetism of the thin steel plate. Since the thin steel is used under the temperature of Curie point such as 780 degrees C, the thin steel is magnetized by the outer magnetic field. In this case, linear induction motor produces the magnetic field and magnetizes the thin steel.
