Conditions and criteria of applicability of the two-stream regeneration method in automotive exhaust gas filters used for limiting the particulate matter emission from Diesel engines. The filter surfaces were covered with a CuV catalyst decreasing the soot inflammation temperature. Effects of the character and the energy supply type in the exothermic and endothermic periods on energy consumption and particulate matter destruction efficiency were studied. The highest efficiency of two-stream regeneration of the filter was achieved when the stream energies were distributed in a by-pass-oxidizer proportion as 30:70.
