This paper describes the major elements of a programmed operating system for a complex of five computers employed at the gemini mission control center. the system was designed for an application environment that includes real-time space missions, simulated real-time exercises, and extensive job-shop operations. Relationships among programs, input/output control, and various operational techniques are described. the characteristics of a statistic-gathering routine are outlined.
