A tracked amphibious test vehicle fitted with hydrostatic transmissions, drives for water-jet motors and drives for tracks, and microcomputer-based drive-train controller to improve fuel efficiency and maneuverability is presented. Drive train components, control and diagnostic systems for subsystems malfunctions, and several main components are described. System control devices and algorithms, control system software and the monitoring system with LCD for the interpretation of control functions are given. (Jarc)
