The reduction of the loss of exhaust gas energy and the exploitation of energy of the cooling medium are furtheron in the centre of the efforts for reduction of the consumption of energy in the working of ship's engines. The main difficulties are to be find here, that the temperatures, in which the available offer of energy are given, are relatively small and that great dimensions and apparative efforts for the exploitation of energy follow. In the paper shall be told about various works in this field, which are carried out in our department of the Wilhelm-Pieck-University of Rostock in the last years. (Wassmann)
