The increasing use of computer graphics by the US military is described. Statistics displayed in graphic form are more easily analyzed than straight numerical printout. Simulators for entire battlefields are under development, capable of full colour simulation of geography, atmospheric conditions, land forces and air forces. Defense graphics currently comprises four imaging technologies: raster; vector-stroke; storage tubes; and plasma displays.
