The phased-array Bragg cell is assembled in an architecture that combines some of the best features of both analog and optical signal processing. This device uses a new, phased-array transducer to provide improved diffraction efficiency and a broad bandwidth of over 2 GHz. A performance summary comparing today's techniques with each other, and also against tomorrow's 'performance-size-and-cost specification' is included.
