Summary form only given, as follows. Using an embedded Markov chain approach, the authors derive the mean queue length and the ratio of the number of detoured vehicles to the number of arriving vehicles in an intersection of automated guideway transit. Time for the process is treated as a discrete variable. The arrival of a vehicle at a given time mark is assumed to be independent of the arrival at any previous time mark. The authors restrict the following: (1) only maximum queue length in the sub-line, (2) both the maximum queue length and the maximum number of slot slippings to the first vehicle in the queue.
