This report deals with automotive climate control using modern control theory. The system controls compartment temperature by variable compressor capacity and the position of the air mix damper. The mathematical model of the system is obtained using a statistical identification method. This system model is reduced to lower order model using practically minimal realization, and the reduced model is adopted as the design model. The experimental results show robust control performance under climate changes causing parameter variations or disturbances.
