The EE Department at the United States Military Academy (USMA) must serve two distinct groups of students: one studying a more technical track in Math-Science-Engineering (MSE) and the other in Humanities and Public Affairs (HPA) which nevertheless contains many technical courses. Currently two separate structures have been developed: one is a single semester course for the HPA students and the other consists of two semesters of course work with a greater emphasis on laboratory sessions for the MSE. The discussion includes a brief survey of the historical evolution of the EE courses at the USMA and consideration of other Dual-Missions.
