A new cruise-control system incorporating a microprocessor has been developed. This system provides a preset speed function to preset a driving speed with a dial. Functions such as transmission control and fail-safe-against-abnormality have been realized. Switch operation and electronic control unit (ECU) algorithms have been developed. The control system was simulated to study nonlinear system stability under considerations of accelerator link hysteresis for optimal ECU parameters.
