The development of the civil and military automotive industry, as well as the sudden increase of competition in the market, dictates the increase of the obligations of the manufacturers to fulfill more and more complex requirements of the users, in terms of economy, comfort, safety and environmental protection. All of the above have influenced manufacturers and the automotive industry to pay attention to technical innovations as well as the development of new in-car systems to meet the requirements of higher cabin comfort, vehicle safety and reduced consumption. Also, recently there has been a special interest in optimizing comfort in cars, this being a concern of manufacturers, so cars have evolved from simplistic constructions to modern cars with state-of-the-art technologies, organized on functional and aesthetic criteria vehicle passengers ergonomics, safety and comfort. This paper describes a large variety of studies and up-to-date techniques developed to achieve comfort in automotive. This study aims to review the state of the art of vehicle comfort.
