Rigid catenary is a crucial power supply system in railway, however, there still remain kinds of deficiencies about design, construction and operation of rigid catenary to be studied. In order to improve the contact quality, it is essential to study the dynamic performance of catenary-pantograph system. In this paper, the model of rigid catenary considering expansion joint and lumped mass model of pantograph are developed by finite element method. The influence of different structural parameters affecting the current collection quality such as static error, span length and suspension structure stiffness are analyzed. Based on results, the deterioration of the current collection quality is revealed.
