Trends, technologies and developments in the e-mobility sector to reinforce the role of electric vehicles are currently subject of scientific cross-disciplinary discourses. Consequently, the implementation of e-mobility is currently promoted by a number of countries, such as the US, France or China, as well as companies and other organizations, to participate in this technology shift of higher sustainability and profitable business opportunities. Due to the serious challenges to overcome, the implementation of e-mobility applications, services and products requires proactive political, scientific, and technological cooperation. In this process, resources, competencies and demands need to be matched by global actors and regional coordination. In this chapter, our specific focus lies on the analysis of different Extended Product (EP) concepts for e-mobility, in order to identity and analyze the most valuable and feasible ones for implementation. Resulting chances, challenges and the positioning options of the involved organizations, such as mobility service providers, energy supply companies, automotive and supplier industry, along with battery manufacturers are depicted. The authors try to demonstrate the immense dynamic and inter-linkage of this evolving business sector and show that new EP concepts need to be introduced. Therefore, promising EP concepts are exemplified and modeled by the Business Canvas method as a possible approach to future business planning. An example for car sharing demonstrates the general applicability.
