The article discusses the methodological problems of assessing the reliability of span constructions of buildings and structures in various technical states, including emergency ones. For control over the technical condition of building structures of the unique buildings various monitoring systems are used. If structures are subject to the dynamic loads, the monitoring systems include a set of vibration control, consisting of sensors - accelerometers. Such parameters as natural frequency and vibration amplitude are measured by them. A decrease in the natural frequency and an increase in the amplitude of vibrations, if the structure mass is constant, indicates a decrease in the load-bearing capacity. When assessing the technical structure condition the regulatory documents prescribe to perform verification calculations. One of the main parameters when performing verification calculations of the reinforced concrete structures in the state of bending by the load-bearing capacity, is the height of the concrete compressed zone. Depending on the load, as well as on defects formed during the operating time the height of the concrete compressed zone also changes. Thus, the task is to study the changes in the load-bearing capacity of span structures by the parameter of the compressed concrete zone height and comparing them with the vibration diagnostic signs obtained from the vibration control kit which is part of the monitoring systems of engineering structures.
