Abstract The conditioning temperature is one of the important parameters of the hoop standard granulator production system. It can be influenced by temperature system with nonlinear, time-varying and hysteresis characteristics and feed quantity. This paper creates a control algorithm which combines disturbance observer and fuzzy PID to control the temperature modulation. In this way, feed quantity of the hoop standard granulator is also seen as a part of the interference. By constructing disturbance observer, this paper predicts the disturbance on temperature system and variations of parameters, so as to suppress the effect of interference on the system. Meanwhile this paper introduces fuzzy PID for adaptive PID tuning parameters to achieve optimal parameters. Finally, the numerical simulation on temperature system has strong adaptability and robustness.
