In this study, a mathematic model approximating the real working environment and two different Bees AlgorithmsBees Algorithm were compared. In the improved Bees Algorithm with site abandonment technologyBees Algorithm with site abandonment technology, different strategies were used for the abandonment of initial sites and elite sites. The simulation results based on actual factory data from Trumpf (China) show that the mathematical model and the Bees AlgorithmBees Algorithm, THE could help to improve production effectiveness. Moreover, the improved Bees Algorithm with site abandonment technologyBees Algorithm with site abandonment technology shows its excellent ability to solve problems such as production planning issues in flexible manufacturing plants.
