As the land-based rocket launch has a disadvantage in flight safety and high cost during full-life cycle service, a new rocket launch mode needs to be found to better meet business needs that is sea-based rocket launch. Considering this fact, this paper presents the main ocean platform for sea-based rocket launch, exploring the development of the marine satellite launch platform, the characteristics of floating ocean platform, research progress of marine satellite launch platform at JUST (Jiangsu University of Science and Technology) and the research focus in hydrodynamic filed for the whole sea launch system.
