The present study conducted hazard perception intervention training for primary school students aged 6 to 10 years old to improve their hazard perception ability. A mixed experimental design of 2 (experimental and control groups) × 2 (overt hazard and covert hazard) × 3 (grade 1, grade 2, and grade 3) was employed. The experimental group was trained in a hazard perception intervention followed by a hazard perception test, while the control group received no training. During the testing phase, the participants watched a set of video clips filmed from students’ perspectives and verbally reported the presence or absence of danger. It was found that regardless of hazard type, the experimental group had a higher hit rate and sensitively, students with third grade had significantly better hazard perception skills than first and second grade; students in the experimental group scored higher on criterion on overt hazards and lower on covert hazards than the control group. The training intervention can be used as a reliable and valid tool among primary school students in China.
