Wheelset is one of the key components of train operation, the friction between the wheel and the rail will lead to the continuous wear of the wheelset, timely monitoring of the wear state of the wheelset is of great significance to the safety of train operation. This paper proposes an on-line inspection system of wheelset size based on multi-line structured light. The light intercept image of the wheelset surface hit by the multi-line structured light installed beside the rail is collected, and the relevant parameters of the wheelset are calculated through the steps of point cloud data acquisition, line structured light matching, and wheelset tread curve extraction to realize the detection of wheelset status. The experimental results show that the measurement accuracy meets the design requirements.
