Various forms of faults exist when satellites are in orbit. This is largely due to the design levels of satellites, the quality of components and the impact of space environment. In addition, with the increase of the number of satellites, the faults also increase, leading to a lot of heavy losses. In this paper, we propose a method for diagnosis and analysis of satellite on-orbit faults. We describe the process of system diagnosis and analysis with a focus on solving the system level faults such as those from correlation, pathways, and bus communication. Finally, the fault location is verified by experiments, and the computer aided method is given. The method is systematic, accurate and easy to be applied in engineering. It has been applied in satellite fault analysis and location frequently with good results.
