The enhanced complexity and weight of conventional air data systems based on aerometric, aerodynamic, and vane sensor methods in using them on ultralight and small aircraft, is justified. The study reveals the theoretical foundations of the vortex method for measuring the incident air flow parameters and its implementation in the original system based on the vortex method using the original vortex sensor of the aerodynamic angle and true air speed. The algorithms of formation and processing of primary informative signals in the measuring channels of the aircraft air data system based on the vortex method are presented. The models are obtained and the quantitative estimation of instrumental errors of measuring channels is carried out.
