The advent of optimization algorithms facilitated finding good solutions for engineering problems. This paper presents a comparative case study between two algorithms relevant to bee search methods. One of the algorithms was modified by adding harmonic memory, which is a stage of the Harmonic Search Algorithm. Both algorithms were applied to a spherical four-linkFour -link mechanism for gripper design as a case study. The results in terms of the coupler trajectory of the mechanism showed the superiority of integrating harmony memoryHarmonyMemory into the Bees Algorithm. A prototype is manufactured to show the success of rapid design and production.
