Abstract Engineers aiming to find efficient hybrid powertrain configurations can benefit greatly from the seamless interaction of multi-objective optimization and optimal control methods. In this chapter, the simultaneous optimization of design parameters and energy management for a fixed parallel hybrid powertrain structure is discussed.
