The article describes the official methodology adopted in Russia for the calculations of the risks of the traffic accidents. The statistics of the traffic accidents is considered. It is shown that the key reason of the accidents is traffic violation by the drivers and that’s why it is necessary to implement the system of the “smart traffic” for the on-line control of the traffic on the base of the video detection and transport analytics which detects the drivers’ state, state of the roadbed, traffic violation and accidents. This paper describes methods and solutions of the “smart traffic” currently used in Russia and suggested the way of control of the traffic accidents.
