An UAV arresting device based on electromagnetic damper is designed. The dynamics mathematical model of UAV arresting process is established. MAXWELL is used to analyze the performance of electromagnetic damper. Then the performance of generator is obtained by experimental. Finally, a multidisciplinary simulation model of the arresting device is established by AMESim. With the increase of UAV mass, the peak acceleration decreases gradually, the arresting distance and the arresting time increase equidistant. The acceleration in the middle and late stages of the arresting process is obviously controlled, and the energy recovery efficiency is the same, which is 9.7% of the UAV kinetic energy.
