In recent years, the number of cars has been growing, and the demand for parking has surged. Meanwhile, with the progress of automobile industry and computer technology, the development of autonomous vehicle (AV) has further developed, resulting in the emergence of new parking service models. Users and the government urgently need new parking service models and parking resource management strategies to optimize parking behaviour. This chapter analyses several traditional parking models, introduces the new parking model—autonomous valet parking model especially long-range autonomous valet parking model in detail, and analyses its key issues. Further, this chapter introduces various parking resource management strategies, summarizes their advantages as well as disadvantages, and proposes future directions. This chapter also discusses the future research direction.
