Abstract The application of active circulation control allows shortening of runways which can be significant in particular cases. The goal of the present paper is to study the influence of the circulation control on the aeroelastic behaviour of wings. For numerical analyses, a simplified computational model is presented, which allows for systematic parameter variations. The model is based on model reduction using modal analysis, so that an efficient performance of numerical studies is possible as well as the integration of the aeroelasticity into a flight dynamics model.
