Abstract The physical structure of Telemetry Network System is introduced first in this paper. Except the traditional telemetry downlink, a new bidirectional data link is developed so that the test articles and the ground stations can form a telemetry network. Then the principle and process of RF link management are discussed. Because the link manager should assign transmission opportunities based on network capacity, two kinds of dynamic capacity allocation algorithms—B-LM and E-LM are studied and compared carefully. Both B-LM and E-LM algorithms can coexist in the link manager, either statically configured or dynamically switched depending on network conditions. At last, the software architecture is analyzed briefly.
