The level of CO, NO, NO2, hydrocarbons and O3 at a detached residential neighbourhood in the first two weeks each month of a full year were analyzed. The area have no industrial activity or any other pollution source. CO, NO and NCH4 showed distinct morning and evening peaks. The noon traffic peak which is as high as the morning did not appreciably influence the level of these pollutants. Correlation with the traffic load was positive. The level of the gases except for O3 was higher in the winter months. Friday (the weekend) had significantly lower means except for O3 and CH4. The effect of wind speed suggest a dissipation effect. The level was not the same for each wind direction.
