Aircraft secondary power systems for supersonic transports and vertical take-off and landing aircraft are required to provide additional capabilities beyond those of present day secondary power systems without compromising the aircraft design, mission, or range. These problems are solved by use of airframe mounted accessory drive systems (ADS) and auxiliary power units. Three possible arrangements of secondary power systems are described.
