Examine the effect of option presentation on decision quality in seven experiments. * People choose optimal options when viewing options simultaneously rather than sequentially. * Deeper cognitive processing underlies the beneficial effect of simultaneous presentation. * Processing load but not memory load eliminates the benefits of simultaneous presentation. * Results provide new insights on choice architecture.
