John D. Edwards Jr, P.E., of Atlanta GA, passed away on Feb 19, 2016. An Honorary and Life Member of ITE, Edwards served as International president in 1985. Edwards was a graduate of North Carolina State University with both a bachelor and master of Science in civil engineering. He was a nationally recognized expert in traffic engineering, transportation planning, and intermodal transportation for more than 40 years. He promoted the development of transportation infrastructure and the redevelopment of downtowns through many articles and seminars on traffic circulation and parking. Edwards was a founding member of the Georgia Section of ITE (GAITE), which he helped establish and served as its first president in 1963.
