Training to become an astronaut is an honor, and the new class that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is in the process of selecting will enter the program at a time of ambitious plans and changes. Some of those who are selected in 2017 will be the first to fly on spacecraft built and owned by commercial companies rather than by NASA. They could also be the first humans to travel to an asteroid or Mars. Here, Jones talks about what NASA is looking for in its incoming class of space fliers.
