Despite significant space transportation accomplishments, 2015 proved again "launch is hard." The failures of the Russian Progress and SpaceX Falcon cargo missions destroyed hardware bound for the International Space Station and reduced onboard reserves. The incidents--coming at the heels of the Oct 2014 Antares cargo mission failure--were significant, but not urgent, setbacks. Progress flights resumed in July. SpaceX has targeted late 2015 for the Falcon's next flight, pending investigation of the earlier failure.
