The 'Fast Pallet' was tested for shipment of Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) and future delivery of Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS). The 'Fast Pallet' is being considered for more economical handling and transportation of ammunition in the Pacific. Two 'Fast Pallet' load distribution and configurations were tested in a standard International Standards Organization (ISO) container. The first pallet load consisted of four MLRS pods, restrained with 3-inch-wide web strapping. The second load consisted of 42 each pallets of 155mm projectiles to simulate the gross carrying capacity of the containerized unit. Both test loads were subjected to rail impact test, hazard course, panic stops, washboard course, and Shipboard Transportation Simulator (STS) tests.
