The test report presents the results of Tests No. 3051-5 and No. 3051-6, frontal, 21-inch right off-set, truck-to-car collisions. Two 1979 Chevrolet C-10, 8-foot, full-bed, 8-cylinder, pickup trucks were used for the tests. The car used in Test No. 3051-5 was a 1978 Plymouth Horizon 4-door sedan. The car used in Test No. 3051-6 was a 1979 Chevrolet Impala 4-door sedan. The object of these tests is to provide truck-to-car collision data. The crash test data from this program will be used to study the aggressivity of light trucks compared to passenger cars, support current vehicle standards, and provide information to upgrade future standards.
