The proposed project begins on the relocated segment of FAS Route 45-07 and extends northerly along relocated segment 0.568 of a mile crossing main line of the Southern Railroad Company. The purpose of the project is to replace a hazardous rough railroad grade crossing with a grade separation structure, and thus eliminates potential car-train accidents, interruptions and delays to highway traffic flow due to crossing being blocked by railroad traffic, and of numerous accidents involving single car or truck. An adverse effect which cannot be avoided is the need for acquiring acreage for right of way. The land acreage that will be acquired for the proposed right of way is not presently being used for productively purposes except for the natural growth of non-commercial shrub timber and bushes.
