This report documents the effects of mass balance on the flutter characteristics of the SST 2707-300 wing. The mass balance is supported on a boom when it is ahead of the wing leading edge. The effects of the size and location of the mass and the boom flexibility on symmetric and antisymmetric flutter at high and low gross weight and subsonic and supersonic Mach number are reported.
