Main purposes of this research were: to determine and compare headway characteristics of in-state and out-of-state vehicles at signalized intersections, to determine the 'right turn on red' characteristics of in-state and out-of-state drivers; and to determine the gap acceptance characteristics of drivers turning left. Time-lapse photography, to record headways, turn data, and vehicle registration, was used. The study also indicated that information about the legality of the 'right turn on red' improve the acceptance of the law. (Author)
