The report presents a six-degree-of-freedom digital simulation of an aircraft tractor rocket air crew escape system. The simulation described is a six-degree-of-freedom simulation in that each of the objects considered is free to translate linearly in three directions and rotate about these three linear axes. The simulation considers the motions of the four 'objects' comprising the escape system: the airplane, the tractor rocket, the towline, and the crewman. The simulation begins at the instant the tractor rocket has been ejected from its catapult and terminates when the tractor rocket has burned out. (Author)
