The proposed project contemplates land acquisition and the construction of a new landing strip (2,500' x 100'); a new parking apron (100' x 200'); a connecting taxiway (175' x 50'); a new access road (3,320' x 18'); and segmented circle. The new Klawock Airport will affect the human environment in that there will probably be a decrease in the number of aircraft operating at less than 500' above mean sea level in the vicinity of the community. There is no identifiable adverse environmental effect of the proposed project. (Author)
