The British civil aircraft requirements (BCAR) method of aircraft certification under wet conditions and the correction of stopping distances to a standard using a friction trailer is studied. The method is also examined for military aircraft. The use of the standard to accident investigation procedures and NATO standards is discussed. A standard military reference wet surface and a way to correct aircraft performance to the standard are examined.
