The SAAT-SCANIA Co., which has been making military aircraft for more than forty years, has recently started manufacturing civil aircraft. Most of the military aircraft have been or are ued by the Swedish Royal Air Force, but some have been exported. The requirements for corrosion protection are partly based on past service experiences and partly on requirements in foreign specifications where we consider MIL-F-7179 and MIL-STD-1568 to be the leading ones. As a subcontractor for other aircraft manufacturers, we follow their requirements with some minor changes which have been agreed between us and the manufacturer. For one aircraft, called SF 340, made by SAAB-SCANIA in cooperation with Fairchild, we have adopted a protective scheme which basically follows IATA doc gen/2637.
