A review of technical literature has revealed the need for a method to accurately predict the aerodynamic loads on external stores in the transonic flight regime. In this flight range, the aerodynamic loads have become sufficiently large as to be a prime factor in airframes' structural design and in the stores' launch characteristics. Discussed are existing methods of store airloads estimation and a proposed method to accurately determine these airloads empirically. (Author)
