The snapshot contains data on calls by oceangoing vessels of 10,000 deadweight (DWT) or greater at U.S. ports. It also contains data on age, type and capacity of vessels calling at U.S. ports. Capacity is expressed in terms of deadweight tons for all vessel types, plus twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) for containerships and cubic meters (CM) for gas carriers.
