Pilots of modern fighter aircraft are endangered by high G- forces, loss of situational awareness and spatial disorientation. In order to prepare aircrew for this factors, ground based training facilities simulating some aspects of the relevant phenomena are used. The human centrifuge has proven to be rather effective in increasing G-tolerance, especially in conditions of high onset rate. Unrealistic simulation caused by the small radius of rotation in centrifuges at the Netherlands Aerospace Medical Centre much attention was paid to find methods to suppress these detrimental effects.
