The question of international pooling of resources for space missions is addressed. The impetus towards such cooperation is both financial and technological. Functions, examples, plans, and objectives for international cooperation are discussed, and the European Space Agency (ESA) is presented as an example of successful cooperation among nations in pursuit of common space-related goals.
