The report describes the initial planning and development of a comprehensive highway pavement feedback data system. The pavement feedback data system forms a basic part of the pavement design system that has been developed and is being implemented on a trial basis. The major goals for this feedback data system are to supply selected physical and cost data acquired on a regular schedule from selected sections of highway to the research arm of the Texas Highway Department for use in evaluating the pavement design system and to ultimately supply District and State levels of management with certain physical and cost data in a form convenient for use in managing the pavements within the District and the State.
