The idea of the Methods of Urban Traffic Improvement project is to suggest various simple traffic control and management measures leading to the improvement of the quality of traffic flow. The benefits resulting from the introduction of the proposed measures are quantified in terms of three selected measurements of effectiveness: number of vehicle stops, delays and saturation flow. The locations studied are a signalized intersection on a four-lane two-way street and an intersection in a fringe area.
